Weddings at the Turner Contemporary
The Turner Contemporary offers so much for couples looking to marry in this amazing art gallery. You can choose a brief civil ceremony, or book the gallery for the entire day, from the ceremony through to the evening’s dance floor celebrations.
The gallery features a spacious reception area with panoramic windows overlooking the North Sea, offering a breathtaking view of the sunset (Margate is known for some of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen!). These large windows bring in an abundance of natural light, which is perfect for me as a photographer. There’s also a private terrace at the front of the museum, overlooking the golden main sands — an ideal spot for your drinks reception if the sun is shining.
One of the things I find most unique about this venue is the opportunity to walk around the gallery during your wedding day. I love integrating the artwork into couples' portraits. The venue is also situated in a fantastic location, with easy access to the quirky Margate Old Town and the main sands, offering a true Margate vibe for your couple photos.
This venue is simply stunning and unlike any other I’ve worked at. The staff at the Turner Contemporary work incredibly hard to ensure everything runs smoothly. If you're looking for a coastal venue with a twist, I highly recommend this one.

Having lived in Margate all my life, I absolutely adore this charming seaside town. Over the past decade, significant investment has transformed Margate into a popular destination to visit and live. The Turner Contemporary has played a huge role in this transformation, attracting people from all over the UK and beyond to this small seaside town for its world-class art exhibitions.

I photograph weddings in a documentary style, which means I capture the moments of your special day in a natural and unobtrusive way. I believe the best photos always come when people are unaware of the camera and are 100% themselves.
Weddings should be a celebration for the bride and groom and not a long boring photo shoot. I like to blend into the day as much as possible and hopefully I will feel like one of your guests.
I won’t be showing up with multiple tripods, huge telephoto lenses or light stands. Instead, I carry just two Canon cameras attached to each hip, allowing me to stay lightweight and move swiftly to capture all the natural moments of your wedding.
All I ask is that you and your wedding party enjoy yourselves! I will make sure I am in the right place at the right time to capture all the action at your wedding!
